Despite a wide range of innovative learning formats, engagement in ECIU activities remains uneven due to unclear incentives, fragmented information, and digital tools that do not always align with real human needs. Bringing together diverse perspectives, the hackathon transforms these challenges into practical, user-centred solutions. Together, we will redesign incentives and value propositions by moving beyond purely ECTS-driven motivation and co-creating meaningful recognition models that highlight personal growth, professional development, institutional visibility, and long-term impact for both students and academic staff. We will simplify access and transparency by reimagining user journeys, information flows, and communication strategies so that ECIU opportunities are easier to understand, navigate, and integrate into academic life. We will also balance digital innovation with human support by developing concepts that intelligently combine AI tools, digital platforms, and dashboards with mentoring, peer exchange, and human-centred guidance, ensuring technology enhances rather than replaces meaningful academic interaction. This is more than a discussion forum; through structured phases of ideation, prototyping, and testing, participants will transform challenges into tangible outputs, from new incentive frameworks and communication concepts to redesigned user journeys and hybrid digital-human support models ready for real-world integration.
